I am concerned about spreading HSV with a towel after showering. I have it around the mouth, not sure if 1 or 2. I get tiny pimples that have a burning sensation. Will it spread to the genitals if I dry my face and genitals with the same towel.

  • I have been drying my face with a paper towel and throwing it in the trash because I am afraid of spreading it to my genitals after showering and drying with a towel.

    Once you have herpes in one area, that herpes isn't going to affect you in another area. It's made it's home for now. You can still get another straing of the virus, but since you already have one affecting your mouth, the other will most likely infect your genitals. You're not going to spread it to another area by using the same towel to dry both areas.
