I have an outbreak that won't heal and keeps swelling.I have been taking Valcyclovir,using cool compresses and Lidocaine. It seems as if nothing is working. The sore keeps getting worse. What else can be done?

    I would check with your health care provider immediately. I think Niwadi is on to something. An infected hair follicle can become a carbuncle/faruncle/boil and cause great infection. It mimics HSV symptoms. You may need to have it drained and tested for the correct antibiotic to use. Sometimes the body absorbs them, but they come back and that again mimics HSV.
