If my partner and I both have HSV2 (genital), and we engage in oral sex, are we at risk of catching HSV2 orally? I read that HSV2 can be in the throat but it is rare.... I test negative for HSV1 but have had a few cold sores (I think 3 in my life) so I assume I have it. Obviously we would not engage in oral sex while there were any symptoms present.
