Syphilis is easy to cure if its discovered in the early stages. Benzathine penicillin G is used to cure and treat syphilis. The bacterium might take more treatments to cure if an individual had the virus for a longer time. There are different stages of syphilis. According to the Center for Disease Control, "A single intramuscular injection of long acting Benzathine penicillin G will cure a person who has primary syphilis".

If you were just diagnosed with syphilis the chances are you already received an antibiotic or you have an appointment to get treated for syphilis. A follow up appointment with a medical doctor is usually within a few weeks of any syphilis treatments. The doctor should make sure that the virus fully cleared the body.
