Syphilis could be diagnosed by a simple blood test. In order to prevent any complications from syphilis an individual should get tested for STDs every six months and before started a new relationship. Syphilis could be cured with antibiotics. During the primary states a single sore or multiply sores could be present at the point where the infection initially entered the body. The sores usually last up to 6 weeks.
When the infection progresses to stage two skin rashes, sores in the mouth, anus or vagina may occur. A fever, swollen glands, sore throat and other symptoms may occur. The latent stages of syphilis are around the 10-30 year mark of living with the active infection. If the virus is untreated, dementia, unable to move body part and damage to the internal organs could cause death.
If anyone had syphilis a re-infection could occur. It's important to have safe sex and to be fully educated about how syphilis is spread.
