I found someone on here... We started dating about 2 2/2 months after I joined.. both have HSV2, and now we are in a committed relationship.
We corresponded from Feb- until June 2009 - which is when he ended his deployment in afganistan and came back to USA. We met at a restaurant.. which is suggested.... however, we did chat online over Yahoo.com quite a bit.. we did not talk on the phone, however, since he was in another country..
we don't have direct plans for marriage, but we are in a committed dating relationship. - marriage may come later, we both are looking for that - but it is complicated due to the nature of his job as well as mine.
I will say that I met other military guys on positive singles.... and they were all nice, but stationed too far away..
George (ScreamingEagle) and I met through PositiveSingles - about 8 months ago now. We corresponded back and forth via email and discovered we had many mutual interests including writing and photography among many others. Soon he was sharing his book he had researched and written and it just blossomed from there. When we met it was exciting! and the current was right there between us.
These many months have made our relationship grow even stronger as we have learned so much about each other. His favorite comment is that he has never laughed so much since meeting me. And its no wonder! I thought his PS screenname had to do with a real Screaming Eagle which caught my eye as I do love Native American culture - and then he told me that Screamingeagle had to do with a motorcycle part - what did I know right?
Many laughs later we are still growing in our loving relationship and enjoying life! Plans for marriage you ask? there is no need for us to rush on that but the relationship and love is strong and growing ever more so. Who can tell right?
In the meantime, my thanks to PositiveSingles for such a great site and an opportunity to meet George!
I met someone very special thru this website thank you so much. I clicked on his picure and liked what I saw, not just a good looking man but he looked real. We have so much in common its like we are the same. We have only been talking on the phone and emailing with pictures we will meet soon. We really have connected and I know that sounds strange but it's true. I have fallen and I'm glad that I was told about your site. Thank you so much
I met someone whom I fell in love with on this site. thank youuuuuuuuuuu so
muuuch!!! perfect website. He msgd me, we chatted for a bit then started texting and phoning eachother, then we met only a week later, in a group of course, hit it off riiiight away, and spent the next 5 days together things moved so fast it was amazing, i was suprised to meet someone so normal, funny, just overall an amazing person, off of a website. This website has seriously opened my eyes, when i was first "diagnosed" I thought my world was over, I thought i would never be able to find a person with the same thing as me, or I would go through life never being able to open up because I was scared people would run as soon as you say "Well I have to let you know I have....." but this site makes it so easy, matching you with people with the same things so you never have to have an awkward conversation and it's as if it doesnt matter, I love it! thankyou!!
I have met someone absolutely wonderful! Not sure where its going yet but VERY Optimistic! We are definitely falling in love and no matter what happens I have made friend for life! And in my first two weeks too!Not to mention your blogs are amazing and have helped me to develope friendships. I have needed for so long! I will continue to use the blogs definitely and try to be here for others in my positon! Great site with amazing people! Thanks so much!
I would love to divulge the wonderful success story I have from your site. I met Rebecca on your site after scanning through the profiles, and I sent her a wink. She checked out my profile and emailed me the next day. I think we only corresponded to each other about twice, then she sent me her phone number. I called her that same day and set up a dinner date for about three days later. This all happened about 2 months ago. It was instant attraction for each of us. We new on the first date that we wanted to see each other again, so I took her and her kids to the movies the next day, and from then on we spent about every day together. We are already talking about spending our lives together and I may actually propose to her when we go on vacation together to New York in about 2 weeks. She has already said that she would marry me and that she wants to spend the rest of her life with me. I think your site is an invaluable resource to help people with our condition to find each other. Without your site, this would not of been possible. Thank you so very much!
I met someone on your site! He contacted me and we corresponded for about a month before meeting in person. We live in different provinces so it will be a long-distance relationship but we are very happy to have found each other. The first time we met in person he came to my house and I cooked dinner for us. There is hope for the future!
Thank you, this site has greatly improved my quality of life!
I would like to be able to say it was through your site I found my partner. We have been slowly working towards this point for almost a year (not necessarilly intentionally either). He is divorced almost a year now and I first started getting to know him right at the time of his divorce. He's been hesitant to take things further because he wanted to make sure I wasn't a rebound and that he was clear as to what he wants in a woman (which meant he played the field a bit). I've given him the time and space to work through it and just the last couple months he's increasingly opened up about his feelings about me. We decided this past weekend that we would get off the singles sites as it's disrespectful to each other to continue being there if we're going to be exclusive. At this point, no plans for marriage as we're still going to take things very slow and just enjoy being with each other when we can. Depending on how things go, marriage could be a possibility as he does want to get married again. I'm not so sure though just yet so it's good that we're taking things very slow and deliberate.
The best part is that he doesn't know yet if he is positive for HPV-2 (he will find out the results next week) but he's been very clear that he wants to be with me regardless. Because I just learned I have HPV-2, I feel very lucky to be with someone so soon that is willing to appreciate me for me and is willing to work through the problem, however it turns out for him even though the possibility is very real that, if he does have it, that I gave it to him. Yet he has no regrets. How cool is that??? I think the saving grace for me is that he got to know me for me long before I learned I was positive. It could have turned out much differently had we not been together on/off over the past year.
So ... I think it's important to let folks know that there really are people out there that can accept them for who they are and don't look at the disease as a dealbreaker. Even though I read testimonials from some folks that it does happen, I didn't believe it ... until now. I truly am so blessed to be with this man at this point in my life.
This site was a helpful "guide" into the world of STD dating! That being said, it was also a helpful intro for a newbie into the realm Internet dating. To have a common ground item to start off with in getting to know someone, takes away a nervousness of sorts away. Over time that broke down the stigma over the way I myself viewed "our secret/secrets". I gained the insight into sharing with a long time friend (not a site member) whom I've cherished forever! My disclosing of my secret put her mind at ease as to why I never pursued a relationship with her, since we always agreed we seemed so compatible. She could sense I was comfortable talking about this with her so I answered a lot of questions she asked. This site gave me the answers not only that I had myself but to feel that comfortable enough to tell her and answer her questions. To make this story short, later in the day she told me that the reason for all her questions was because she herself also has my "secret". So in conclusion, this site gave me the knowledge to educate myself in ways I could not of, and the support I needed to conquer the fear of our secret.
I have met someone from this website after only having it for a week. She is exactly what I have been waiting for and I would love to thank positive singles for assisting me on finding someone. well she was not a perferred member and did not have a picture but I responded to her profile. we talked for about a week and she was only 15 minutes down the road. so we met at a water fountain at a resturant. we spent probably 6 hours together there. we have talked on the phone non stop and see each other every day. I noticed her while she was walking across the field and I realized shes gorgeous, shes smart funny and I enjoy her company. I dont know if you know the feeling of when you hug someone and you cant hug them long enough or when you touch someone you cant get close enough. well I havnt until now I was married prior to this and never did I havnt felt so good about someone as I do now. I love her company. I was always described the feeling and never felt it but I do now and its a great feeling. marriage? I dont know. not for a long time, but if I do get married again I hope its with suzanne.
Hello,We corresponded for 10 days and met on the 11th day since she sent me the first email. I had the free account for about a year and forgot all about it until I received a message from her. When she sent the first message, on May 19th, I upgraded to the premium so that I could respond. Honestly, I don't think I was ready to date someone until I first heard from her, it was great timing. So we emailed each other for a while, we added each other on Facebook, then I asked her out for coffee, we met at a coffee shop in downtown Salt Lake and talked for hours, that was on May 29th. Since we first met things went very well, we went out again and again. On May 9th, we changed our FB to say "in a relationship", it was her idea. And if I had enough courage I would have suggested it earlier. I am really lucky to have met Kathleen. I have not told her yet, and I do understand we have only known each other for a short amount of time, however I think I lover her; acturally I know I do. I can definately see a long term relationship with her that could follow into marriage. But I don't want to rush things, I am really enjoying and savoring the early stages of our relationship and look forward to the future. As far as tips on the site is concerned, I can't think of any. I'm sorry. Just keep up the good work. I am very grateful and thankful for your site because it has brought someone that I can't imagine being without. Someone who understands me and wants to be with me as much as I want to be with her.
I met my special someone about a month ago on positive singles, we met and have been seeig each other since. We both have children and we introduced them to one another jut this week and things went great. I can't wait to share more great moments together with our families.
This is the first time I joined an online site since my divorce. I picked this site because I was afraid to be rejected. I met F9r160 twenty one days after I was on this site. He emailed me and I reply. We started emailing each other in this site then finally decided to talk on the phone a week later.About two weeks later we decided to meet each other and from then on we are inseparable. He lives 3 hours away but I guess distance is not a factor in love. Every obstacle we overcome brings us closer to each other. It's been a couple of months already and we are still so much in love with each other and hope to spend the rest of our lives together someday. My advice to others is don't give up, love is in the air.
Our relationship is going very well. We liked each other's profiles and from the first email we connected with each other. Talking on the phone was our next step and hour long conversations led us to believe we needed to meet. We spent three long very special days together that sealed in our minds that we had something pretty special. At the moment we are three hours away from each other but take advantage of emails everyday, we talk on the phone at least once a day and planning our next get together. After being on other sites for quite a long time this was the first that the mental and physical connection was not all one sided. We can't imagine not being together and building our relationship to a all new level for both of us.
I can only thank your site for being there for us taking away all the awkward hows and whens to bring up the subject of our issue. That conversation doesn't even exist and the stress that comes from having to have that conversation.
I kept going on this guys profile to check out his pic...he was so cute:) But I did not contact him at first because I thought he lived in Chicago.I finally decided to contact him and found out he was right here in Tennessee. We emailed each other, then chatted on the phone for a bit. Then we decided to meet for dinner. When we sat down to talk I felt totally comfortable, like we had known each other for years. After a couple of months of dating we decided to date exclusively...do the boyfriend/girlfriend thing:)That's the good part...here is the bad part.During this time he ran into some problems...he lost his job:( Like any good friend I helped him out through those tough times. He was planning on opening a business,so he had some money put away for that. And I watched this man singlehandedly put together his own barbershop, with very little resources. It was amazing to watch. And it let me see what type of person he was under pressure. He is such a wonderful young man and we have talked about our future together...which seems pretty bright to me:)We have so much in common and I have already learned so much from him,he brings out the best in me.He makes me feel so good, so happy...so complete. He is everything that I have ever wanted in a man:)
I found the Positive Singles web site through a Google search of STD dating sites.
I logged on as a guest, and started to search for a match. I had a specific type of woman in mind, that I would consider dating. I sent winks to the women that met my criteria. I immediately received a wink from someone else, who found my profile in her search. I was not a Member, so I could not see all of her information, nor could I contact her first. I joined the site so I could use the search more efficiently. I was surprised to see that the Woman who contacted me met my criteria. I had several women contact me, but many of them weren't a healthy match for me. The woman who did contact me, turned out to be the exact match I was looking for. I was looking for height, body type, age, what they are living with, location, and most of all personality. I must have done the right thing, at the right time, for a change, to have my date call me, and actually be willing to meet, and start a relationship. I don't keep a number of women in my life, because i'm not so good at remembering mulitpile names. We are going to see where this leads the two of us. If for some reason it doesn't workout between us, I'm sure we both will be back to seek a mate on the Positive Singles site.
Not much to say here other than things couldn't have worked out better. Just because you have to modify your dating style a little doesn't mean that you have to compromise what you expect from a relationship or from a partner. I've been fortunate enough to come across someone that I wouldn't have met outside of this site.
He just emailed me to tell me that how adorable he thought I was and how he really liked my profile and that he wanted to meet me, so I decided to give him a chance. He only lives 20 minutes away from me and were a lot alike and just really hit it off. He asked to be his girlfriend on valentine day and we've been so happy ever since.
It's a lot easier to be comfortable with a relationship when you both have the same STD. just like most people, we were depressed when we found out we had herpes. I felt useless and thought now I'll never find someone, but it turns out I found the most amazing person!
Thanks to your website.
I have been on this site for longer than most and made friends. I can honestly say that
I have found my best friend. he is the man i haven't known long but feel like
I've known all my life. I can't describe it, he is hopefully the end of my
old chapter and the beginning of all my new ones. I'm crazy about him!
So thank you positive singles. my faith has been restored in men and I'm
happier than I've ever been. oh! And I'm relocating! ya! Best wishes to
everyone on the site. if you get discouraged, just know that you will
find what you are looking for.
I was just about to cancel my subscription because I met someone through this site and am doing well with him. Its going very well so far, we talk every night and I go to see him on the weekends, and so far he seems great, I haven't been this happy in a long time. I want to say thanks for making this possible, since its so hard dating with what I am living with.
We hit it off right from the start, he called and we got along so well. We both have the same passion which is music and that makes it that much better!! I guess we will see where it goes from here on but at the moment its amazing. Thanks again!!
