Q: Just to let you know, I went and had myself retested before Christmas. I was given a type specific antibody test, which I was told was the most accurate. Well, my doctor called me back yesterday and told me that my tests came back NEGATIVE and that I do not have herpes! Needless to say I was absolutely shocked and amazed. He said that false positives do happen from time to time. For the past two years I've been living my life as if I were positive and now am learning that it was all a mistake. I feel so liberated but feel like I am a better person because of it. I'm still a bit in shock and have to learn all over how to deal with life "on the other side". It's a strange feeling... Anyway, I just felt like I needed to tell someone...
