I signed up Saturday, and "found" him Saturday. We talked on the phone twice before meeting on the following Friday, at an Appleby's for dinner. He lives 7.5 miles from me which is such a huge bonus!! We have been together nearly everyday since.....he's met my 11 year old daughter, which is big for me, I don't normally do that unless I am interested, and I am rarely allowed to get to that point as they run once they hear the "H" word (who can blame them really). For once, it will be nice to get dumped because of ME, and not because of the disease. I am a great person with a lot to offer a person, and repeatedly getting dumped because of this disease, knowing I am a good, honest, hardworking person, really gets you down in the dumps and depressed. It's hard to explain, but I know many in my situation feel the same way.

I don't see him as a marrying type person, and I am fine with that. I am just happy to have found someone to be with, and hope it lasts.

We both were diagnosed w/ herpes around 2001. I didn't know about this site, so I was constantly having the really awkward convoy w/ my dates of "I have something to tell you..." needless to say, it always ended the relationship. A former boyfriend told me about ps.com so I checked it out. Within 2 weeks, I had 2 dates & 2 weeks later, had a 3rd. Who knew that would be my last first date? We dated for 18 months, got engaged & now were married. So, although you make think life is over now. It absolutely is NOT. We both know we have herpes, but never have to hide it because we both know what we are going through. There IS life after STD's!

I have proven to myself time and time again that I can be in a relationship with someone. I have been in one relationship with someone who was infected and two who weren't. The reasons for breaking up were not related to my status in anyway. I date and I live a normal life. My status doesn't define who I am and I am not my status. My only probably is finding my soul mate, but who doesn't have that problem. My status will not keep me from love because I won't let it.

Advice to other members:

Be confident in yourself and everything else will fall into place.

I met someone, Thank you! We corresponded a couple weeks before the first meeting. We live close to one another, so we met at a restaurant within a mile of my home, met for a couple glasses of wine and talked. We met in the first week of May 2010, and have been dating for approximately 2 1/2 months. We have both agreed that we don't see a reason to see anyone else, so at this point we have removed from the site.

Tips: Be cautious and careful. Meet at a public place. Don't disclose personal information too fast. Be safe and have fun.

I joined this site after having diagnosed with HIV. I was scared to meet an HIV new person and having to disclose my status to him. Not sure what his reaction would be. When I joined this site I met different people in the same situation with me and finally managed to get the real one for me. We are now dating and are madly in love. Check out for wedding bells soon!!
