We were both diagnosed with HSV-2 between 2000 & 2002. He had discovered this sight way before I had, so he had been dating on it for a while. I was dating "commoners" & having that really awkward "i have something to tell you" conversation that ALWAYS ended badly. finally, a former boyfriend told me about this site & i checked it out. within 48 hours i had 3 potentials. went out with 2...they weren't bad...but weren't "right" for me. then after a month of emailing the 3rd guy, we finally met for coffee. and the rest is history. we got married 18 months later & couldn't be happier. it's awesome being with someone else that has that same STD because it's almost like you don't have it! and you don't have feel awkward or gross when you tell people.

Advice to other members:

be honest. keep it within the community. STD's are running rampant & taking over the world (sadly). So, do your part to prevent spreading it!

After a failed serious relationship with the person who gave me HSV, I was watching a talk show and saw a woman talking about the positive singles website. I thought I would give it a try and see what happened. After a month of paying, I still didn't see what I was looking for and quit messing with my account. I got into another relationship and it fortunately failed as well. I turned to the website again, but was not quite ready to commit to it, so I just used the free parts of the site. Thats when Kyle wrote me. Once we started talking, it was an instant connection. We were on the exact same page in life. We decided to meet not even a week later and have been together ever since. And for sweetest day, HE PROPOSED! He is amazing and I could have never found him without this website! I thought that what I had was the worst thing possible, but in the end, it led me to my soul mate.

Advice to other members:

Dont quit trying! Everyone may tell you that and you may be tired of believing it, but this site really does work. I even gave the site to a friend of mine who is in the same boat as I, as she has met a wonderful man as well.

I joined this site this past december when I came across it when I googled " dating with Hsv". I checked out the site and realized there was a whole world of people with it and made me realize I wasn't alone.

I didn't really have any intentions when I first joined it. I didn't know what I would get out of the site. I wrote a forum December 13th in it I wrote " I do believe everything happens for a reason and i'm hoping maybe I got this and will find someone else with it? the person I was supposed to possibly be with in the end." December 20th john wrote to me. He lived in virginia beach at the time but was originally born and raised in New york. He moved 5 years prior being in the navy. He was writing to me saying how he was driving up that day to new york to see his family for christmas and would love to meet. We texted his whole drive up and talked on the phone the first night but I was still scared to meet up with him. I had never done this online dating thing and would jo... Read Full Story>>

Take chances and don't be scared because if you don't take chances you might never find that person, I know i wouldn't have.It might take time but I really do believe there is that one person out there for everyone.

Gene and I met on the site last November. We corresponded online for a month before we met for our first date. We had an instant connection that has only gotten stronger during the past 9 months that we've been dating. We really took the time to get to know each other which I think has been the main reason our love is so strong. We are truly a perfect match for each other and I am so blessed to have finally found happiness in the best relationship I've ever been in. As far as future plans go, only time will tell, but I'm confident that I've found the person that will be my partner through the rest of this life :)

Advice to other members:

Hang in there. I've gotten so many e-mails from such great people who are having a tough time finding someone right for them. Just keep putting yourself out there without expectations and focus on making a new friend. If there is more there, it will come through. Good luck to all of you!

I have never been into the long distance dating thing, but sometimes you have to take the chance otherwise you never know. It was such a random act that brought us together, but what we both found together is far from random. We are still living in two separate states (I'm in Southern California, he's in Colorado), but with video skype, phones, texts and as frequent as possible visits we make it work. It's all about communication and we had a month and a half to just talk before we met. I'm planning on moving to Colorado next year and can't wait to be around him every day.
I'm so grateful to this site and the people I have met. It took a emotionally and pyschologically devastating situation and turned it into a wonderful thing. Thank you so much!!

Advice to other members:

Sometimes when things seem the hardest you learn the most about yourself. Don't give up and keep fighting....we ALL deserve to be loved and to be happy.
