Mark (FIDELTYPOWER) and I met on this site. We met in early May and almost kissed on our first date! We were immediately enamored with each other. He had 3 children and I 1 and we were very careful to portray ourselves to the children as friends until we were sure. The middle of July we announced to our children that we were in love and were planning a life together. Two weeks after that he was killed in a horrible accident. I am still struggling so very much with this but I will NEVER regret meeting him and falling in love with him. So many have asked, "How long did you date?" Well it was long enough to fall in love and decide we wanted to have a life together. I am grateful for every moment I had with him.

Advice to other members:

Mark felt so hopeless he would ever find anyone before he found this site. I had a different outlook on that and was delighted to share my experience with him. LIfe is never hopeless. I am leaving this site now because I need to be alone for a time. Never let a disease or illness define who you are. Cherish every moment in your life. At any moment things can be taken from you so enjoy your now.

After browsing the site for a week or two, I had only found one man whose profile and pic interested me. However, it said he had not logged in, in over a year. On the off chance he would get sent a notice, I decided to send him a short email and then basically wrote it off as a long shot.

Two weeks later he replied back; he was so open and honest right off the bat that I could only hope this would go somewhere. After emailing back and forth for about a month he finally convinced me to call him. From that night on we spoke everyday. Pretty soon he moved across the country to Colorado so we could actually 'start' dating. I remember when I went to the airport to meet him....when I saw him for the first time and he gave me this amazing smile, I knew that he was my soulmate. (Actually I think I knew before then but when I actually got to be near him...all I can say is he feels like home if anyone can understand that).

He met my children and after they (quickly) got over t... Read Full Story>>

Advice to other members:

Be honest and be yourselves. Don't try to find someone that you can change to fit you and don't try to fit someone else. I also would suggest not limiting your search to locals, mine was several hundred miles away :)

Going the Distance  (Dating)

After years of trying to come to terms with my diagnosis, I decided to join the site to meet people in the same situation as me. After a few not so stellar dates, I was ready to completely give up hope of finding some one I could really connect with. So, when wwalker sent me a wink, I did not respond immediately. Eventually after a few more e-mail exchanges, we set up a date and time to meet.

Little did I know that that one date would forever change my life. It was amazing. Great conversation, a romantic stroll, my fate sealed with a kiss. I could not believe my luck. I had met a handsome, intelligent, funny man who understood exactly what I was going through.

It has been almost two months since that fateful day, and although we live in different cities, we have spent every weekend together since. I have never been happier. We will live in the same city soon enough...

Advice to other members:

Never give up hope of finding love. It is important to know what you do and don't want. That way when someone truly special walks into your life, you will be able to recognize him/her. Good Luck!

I met someone already  (Engaged)

My fiancee is a kind, sweet, yet "edgy" native amer/hispanic man, around my age. He has taught me how to garden, parallel park our car, and he has shown me a side of life that I fortunately never had to experience...past horrid abuse.
In a sense, I am his "caretaker" for now, but we will be working on the issues together over the years to come.
He is a divine dancer, does not care what disease I may have, and loves me for me.
A fall wedding is planned.

Advice to other members:

Don't give up hope and keep your options open somewhat.
