Living in Ohio, it was my birthday in November of 2005 when I came across the website. I had been separated from my husband for quite some time and was awaiting the finalization of my divorce within the week. I hadn't been doing much dating, but was looking forward to leaving the past behind and starting a new life.

A week into my membership, I responded to a simple message from a man living in Florida. Two days later, we began a conversation online that lasted about 3 hrs. He had just come out of a serious long term relationship and like me, was ready to start over. There was immediate chemistry. After several hours of conversation, all that was left to say, was "Wow". There's was an obvious connection, neither of us could ignore. Our conversation migrated to the telephone, where we continued to tell our life stories until it was time to go to work the next morning. This was a Tuesday morning, and as I went through my day at work, I could hardly concentrate on anyt... Read Full Story>>

I joined PS with low expectations in terms of love and romance; NZ has a small population spread out over a huge area, and it would be unlikely to find more than companionship. I live in a very remote area - where EVERYbody knows everybody, no casual dating here! - and sure enough there were few on PS of age/region/personal compatibility. Actually, only one....................

So we corresponded for a while, but my marital situation was not finalised, so I pulled out. But then felt more final so reconnected briefly - and then, in confusion, said a final farewell to what was clearly a very good and decent PS lady. Hey, welcome to the Real Modern World of confused relationships...................

Eventually I pulled myself together and set Jan 1st 2012 as the First Day of my new life alone. I was honest to my ex that I would then move on - I may have Messaged, but I never Met, while the marital relationship was working its way out.

So, as a... Read Full Story>>

Jay and I started emailing back and forth in October 2011. We exchanged phone numbers about a week later and we have been inseparable ever since!

It is a long-distance relationship (I live in Los Angeles and he lives in Alaska) so we mainly communicate via FaceTime. He is 3000 miles away but we can see each other everyday, thanks to technology.

We finally met last week. He flew from Alaska to visit me and it was so great getting to hold him and kiss him for the first time. He was well worth the wait. And we just booked another trip for next month. We will eventually move closer to each other as early as the end of this year (yes, I'm planning on making the big move to Alaska!). We have not discussed marriage and/or kids just yet, but he is the only person that I've ever pictured a future with :-)

We are completely head over heels in love with each other and the ONLY reason we met was because of this website. Your site made me feel so much better abou... Read Full Story>>

Advice to other members:

My advice is to keep an open mind. I almost ignored Jay's "wink" to mebecause I saw his location and thought to myself, "What on earth would I have in common with someone from Alaska?!" I took a second look at his
profile and it turned out we had a TON in common...we're from the same hometown, we both LOVE chocolate, and we were both diagnosed with the same condition.

My second piece of advice is to ask questions and keep the conversation going in your emails. A one-word reply probably won't keep the attention of the person you're talking to.

I love your site and I think it is wonderful. I love that I, as a free member was still able to communicate via email with other members who emailed me.

I am not leaving because I am dissatisfied, I am deleting my account because I have found the most amazing man on here. He is truly the man of my dreams and I feel we have so much potential. Our relationship is still very new but we have already had a lot of those big conversations. We live very far apart, but he will be traveling to meet my family in Tennessee in June and I will be going out to California in July to spend one of our favorite holidays together, Independence Day. :) I am looking forward to where this relationship is going and if it progresses all the way to
marriage we both agreed that we would love to share our story on here. It is especially important for people in our situations to see that not only is all hope not lost, but sometimes something that can seem so horrible like herpes did for us, a... Read Full Story>>
