I sent a message to James on October 2, 2012. He FINALLY messaged me back on Oct 22. (I still tease him about this)
I had started talking to someone else, but he stuck around and we texted consistently for two months as friends. He texted me get well texts and asked how I was doing when I was very sick in the hospital. Then, when we both were free from ties to other people, on Nov 3 (my birthday), I sent him a text message from my hospital bed saying I was interested in talking on the phone and meeting. That started a month of 4-6 hour phone calls several nights a week. I knew it was something special even then. He says he fell in love with me over the phone.

Because of our lack of money, we couldn't meet right away, but finally on Dec 15, 2012, when I had scrounged up some extra money for gas, I drove an hour to go see him.

I arrived at his house with a case of beer and an anxious heart. I saw him outside of his house and when I called his name and he turned aro... Read Full Story>>

Advice to other members:

I didn't get many responses to emails. Keep trying, and don't take it as rejection. Just send more messages!

We all have baggage. The key is finding someone whose baggage is compatible with yours.

My name is Whitney and my boyfriends name is Josh. I found out about my HPV about a year ago. I was really down on myself but knew other people had to be going through the same thing so when i googled dating with HPV I found this sight. Josh first emailed me on February 11, 2012. I didnt think much of it but we continued to email. Eventually I gave him my phone number. He texted me for the first time on 2/14/2012 and we started to get to know eachother really well. It wasnt very long until we started to really like eachother. We ran into a few problems though, for one he was stationed in Virginia (originally from Tennessee) and i was in Vegas, complete opposite sides of the country. Second, he was in the military and getting ready to be deployed in a couple weeks. We talked as much as we could before he left and stayed in touch by email when he was gone. We sort of lost touch about the beginning-Middle of summer. One day around the end of July he happened to come across my mind. We had... Read Full Story>>

We met in August of 2009 for coffee. We didn't hit it off right away. As a matter of fact, we both ended up going on to date other people. Over the next two years our friendship grew quite a bit and we leaned on each other through some life changes and other difficult relationships. In mid 2011 we started falling back together. Here we are, a year and a half later. Today we both officially deleted our accounts. That's what WE call a big step. No matter where this road leads us, I can confidently say I found my best friend.

Advice to other members:

Not every first date is magical. Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs before you realize you already kissed the frog you want to keep kissing.

I was really excited to find this site, except I was never good at talking to more than one person. But I made myself get on here and actually look around and give people a chance that I wouldn't be able to find on my own. After a failed first try, and a few dates with a very nice guy that I just didn't click with, I received an e-mail from Jon. He lived all the way in Georgia and I'm in Oklahoma City, which proceeded to make me think of every reason there would be no point in meeting him. But after a discussion with a friend, I decided to at least meet up with him over the holidays, give it a shot though I was 100% doubtful we would connect and I would ever see him again.
The instant he walked into the restaurant on our first meeting, my negativeness was taken down a notch. I thought the conversation might be difficult since we never spoke previously through e-mails to get to know each other, unlike prior dates I had been on. But our ideas and likes/dislikes and laughter came wit... Read Full Story>>

Advice to other members:

Dating is difficult, and don't settle - ever! You know what you want and don't be afraid to ask for or demand it. That person is out there, and with everything that everyone on this site has been through, there is no point in hiding what you're looking for. Don't lie to yourself or others, people who are looking for something real, want someone genuine. You'll never find what you're looking for if you aren't honest about what you want.

I joined PositiveSingles on June 10, 2012 and within a week Tom and I were talking on the phone. We met for the first time on June 24, 2012 and had dinner, took a walk and got to know each other. We have now been dating for seven months and couldn't be happier. Not only to we share a love of horses and animals in general but found we have quite a bit in common. If it had not been for PositiveSingles we would have never met. Thank you!
